I can’t. Too cute. This gave me too many feels at 2:30 in the morning. I need more but I can’t draw.
What really warms my heart is, No one had to contribute to this, no one gained anything from it, and in the end, no one who did contribute will be remembered for it.
And Yet they did, becasue this small and precious love story resonated with them and becasue of that strange human desire to nurture the growth of beautiful things, and build upon the ideas of those that came before.
It’s said that Humans can’t leave well enough alone, and that one of our biggest flaws, but its also one of our greatest strengths. We build on the works of those who came before us, expanding and refining with every edition, each person contributing a single brick, till one day we look back and see an entire road was made.
That’s the story of LGBT after all. Strangers, tending a garden planted by people who they never met, but with each day, more add and aide and nurture, until you see a blooming grove. Beautiful not becasue it was made by one person for others, but becasue it was made by many for all.

If you’re like me and have a large gap under your front door (someone could take a stick and just poke the leaning stick style door jam out), I recommend the Addalock. It’s small, perfect for traveling, and this lock is CRAZY. It’s so simple but the door does not move.
You can’t see it from the other side, either. It also cost about $20, and I can’t recommend it enough. Easy to travel with, too! Great for Air BnBs!
That’s why I have these on my doors. They get drilled into the side and once its flipped over the door nothing is getting it open. Not the door being unlocked nothing, I’ve unlocked the door and pulled and pushed as hard as I could and it didn’t budge. When I go on a trip this is what I use and when I’m home I leave it on too. No one is getting in here.
Okay I know that it is necessary for many but what do you do if you need medical attention and you’re not able to open the door from the inside? Can the fire department get through these at least?
Yes. The fire department can and will break down your door if necessary, it’s one of the reasons they have axes; it’s entirely possible for door frames to melt/expand/seize or otherwise become unopenable during a house fire but the door itself can be hacked down. Or the window. In rare cases, the wall. Firefighters don’t fuck around with collateral damage when lives are at stake.
I can’t even fully express my love for Macaulay Culkin. I loved his recent interviews with Jimmy Fallon and with Ellen (in one of them he’s wearing red nail polish and I just love that about him too), I love his website bunnyears.com, I especially love him in Party Monster and in Saved, I love that he was in a Velvet Underground cover band called Pizza Underground that changed all the lyrics to be about pizza, and I love how weird and awkward he is.

No, not at all! 😊 This is a family recipe that I swear by. It never, ever fails me.
Alright, this is a chicken soup recipe, so there will be meat products being used. I figure I oughta give that disclaimer since I don’t know who may be vegetarian/vegan.
Now onto your ingredients: -Two boxes of store bought chicken broth -One white onion -Garlic (I use the pre-minced store garlic because a) it saves time and b) it’s much easier to infuse into the broth) -Celery -Carrots -Wide egg noodles -Chicken bouillon cubes -Salt -Pepper -Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs.
Directions:
Get yourself a big ass soup pot, toss in your chicken, chicken broth and fill the rest of the way with water (you want your pot about ¾ full). Put it on high and vent your lid. Par boil your chicken until it begins trying to boil over then reduce heat to med-high and let simmer. This is where you get your rich, hearty stock from. The broth, fat from the skin and marrow from the bones do wonderful things together, let me tell you.
While this happens, dice your carrots and celery ahead of time and set them aside. Once your chicken is done (it’ll look kinda gray and yellow instead of white and pink), pluck it out of the pot into a large bowl. Move your pot off the heat so it doesn’t cook out your stock. One by one, move a thigh into a seperate bowl and proceed to shred your chicken. (Pro-tip, if you have a hand mixer or food processor, this process can go much faster as long as the bones are removed)
Next, put in your veggies and noodles with the shredded chicken. Next comes spices. Add pepper and salt to taste (you can always do a little at a time if you’re worried about going overboard) along with about 4-5 bouillon cubes. If you have minced garlic, add about 4 spoonfuls (the little spoons) into the broth. If you have whole cloves, smash em and mince the shit out of them, about 6 big ones, and toss them in.
Stir really well (I always stir both clockwise and counter to banish sickness and draw wellness). Set the pot back on the heat (remember, med-high) and let that sucker cook until the noodles are just at al-dente. You don’t want em too squishy and mushy. Take this time while the noodles cook to taste your broth repeatedly. You want to taste the all the components strongly without them being too overpowering. Basically, if it burns your throat pleasantly and makes your nose tickle, you got yourself a badass broth.
Once done, serve with fresh cracked pepper and a big ass glass of water or vitamin c rich juice. Remember to remove the pot from the heat even after it’s off so it doesn’t continue to cook out your broth and over-tenderize your noodles.
To store: let the soup cool completely and transfer to a big tupperware and refrigerate. Eat the rest within the next 2 days.

Holy crow is this getting notes! While I’m here, I’d like to mention that this soup is going to make you pretty tired. I made this for my sister two months ago and right after she finished, she laid down and slept for 10 hours straight and woke up with a face full of snot but clear sinuses. Tonight, mom ate her bowl and took a 4 hour nap on the couch. She just wandered off to bed after telling me her sinuses and chest already feel much clearer and her throat barely hurts. I’m not sure what it is about this soup, but it knocks you clean out and goes straight to work on what ails you. So be cautious about driving or anything of the sort after eating this. Not that it has the same sedative capabilities as say, morphine, but I would recommend finding a cozy place to curl up afterwards on the off chance you do end up feeling drowsy, just to err on the side of caution. I’d also like to mention that I am in no way a doctor so don’t take my advice in lieu of medical assistance! Please, if you can, seek a doctor first as always. This is purely meant to be used in a supplementary fashion in addition to medication. Okay I’ll leave you guys alone now, I’ve talked your ears off enough.

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT AND GIVES POWER BACK TO SO MANY PEOPLE
What is it about MDZS that makes its fans so violently defensive / hostile towards its characters, sometimes to the extent of ignoring what MXTX literally wrote to fit their agenda?
For example, let’s take NMJ and JGY, arguably the most controversy generating duo in all of MDZS. A lot of people favor one and dislike the other, which is fine, but I’ve seen so many people make up things that simply isn’t true in canon to either demean the other party, whether that other party is a character or people that support that character.
A pro-NMJ factoid that I’ve seen far too often is that NMJ called JGY the son of a prostitute because his mind had already been poisoned by JGY at the time, and this would suggest that JGY is to blame himself for NMJ’s outburst towards him. However, I am pretty sure we’re supposed to think that NMJ was of a completely clear mind when he said this.
This is the scene right before the infamous falling out:
WWX, who could feel everything NMJ is feeling at the moment, says that JGY was trying his hardest and that it was, in fact, working. And right after the argument, when LXC rushed out, this is what NMJ says about his own mental state :
While one can argue that NMJ is not aware of his own mental state at this moment, that is not an argument I see anyone making when they say that NMJ’s mind was already poisoned. I’m inclined to believe him, especially considering JGY’s reaction here :
He had “decided on something”, which I think we are supposed to believe is killing NMJ. After this argument, WWX doesn’t say that the song of clarity is working anymore. All of this suggests that NMJ calling JGY a son of a prostitute came before he was poisoned, not after.
And just so that I don’t get accused of being a JGY apologist, a common factoid I’ve seen among pro-JGY fans is that NMJ held a grudge against JGY due to him killing that officer, and refused to give him another chance regardless of all the good he has done afterwards. This is also not true: JGY has done a lot of awful things after killing the officer, and while one can argue whether he could, or should have chosen otherwise, you have to admit they can come across as a little morally repugnant.
For one, he used NMJ’s trust in him to stab him and escape. (not giving screenshots here because they are pretty general events) He then killed a bunch of cultivators, for seemingly no better reason other than they dared to defy WRH. He also brought up NMJ’s deepest scar, his father’s death, to anger him. He also suggested WRH torture NMJ, an idea that even WRH himself seems to think is a little unnecessary. (screenshot here because it’s pretty surprising, but it’s true)
I’m not saying that JGY should, or could have done otherwise in these situations, but that NMJ at the moment had a valid reason to be angry at him. However, once he heard what JGY had done these things for, he was willing to give JGY a second chance by becoming sworn brothers with him.
In fact, even after JGY got in cahoots with a well-known delinquent and tried to shield the guy after killing 50+ people for his own gains, NMJ softened when LXC brought up the good that JGY had done.
All in all, I don’t think, judging by these passages, that NMJ is incapable of forgiving. You can argue that NMJ is not very considerate of JGY’s situation, but I think these passages pretty clearly shows that NMJ always believed that JGY was capable of changing to become better, and gave him a lot of second chances.
Now, did I write this giant post that took 2 hrs of my time to prove that one character is better than the other? Not at all. In fact, I am pretty neutral towards everyone in the series, and the moral grayness of the characters is what makes me love this series.
But ah, let me get back to my main point. While I understand that not everyone likes being neutral as much as I do, the amount of… Anger in this Fandom really shocks me sometimes. I get that the novel is pretty complex and not everyone remembers all the details all the time, but how in the world do you hate or love a character when you don’t even completely understand him/her? Sometimes I feel like these characters have taken on a completely different life separate from Canon in internet flame wars and are simplified or villified to a skeleton of their complex personalities and experiences that has only a perfunctory connection to the work they came from.
Granted, this is much worse in the Chinese Fandom. There’s literally a segment of JC fans that have “expelled” MXTX from her “author hood” of JC because they perceive her to be unfair towards him in the story and a part of XY fans called her a “XY hater” because of her comments about him. But there’s some shadows of it in the Western community and I’m just wondering, like seriously, what is it about MDZS that creates so many solo stans? I’ve been a part of a lot of Fandom, some of them quite notorious for toxic fans (Hetalia and Black Butler, anyone?) but MDZS has the angriest fans that’s literally willing to ignore Canon to paint their favorite character as completely innocent, devoiding them of the moral grayness that makes MDZS great in the first place.
